Hebrews 6:1 instructs us to move on to greater maturity, “Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.” This conference is intended to help you do just that.
Many couples have found freedom from bondage, and healing from the damage of sin in their lives. Yet, they struggle to fulfill the greater purpose for their freedom; to truly (without reservation), love and serve Christ and others! Galatians 5:13 says, “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
As we said at WIT I, “It is not enough to just be good and stop your ‘bad’ behavior.” You must move forward, loving and serving others in a spirit of humility that brings oneness in your marriage. Your spouse should know and “feel” that they are the most important person outside of Christ in your life! May we say here… that this goes for both spouses! It is time that we take what we learned at WIT I and “Move FORWARD!”
Topics for the weekend:
“Roadblocks in your relationship?” Are you stuck? Over the years, Jenny and I have had alumni contact us and say, “We attended WIT, but now we are stuck!” In the past 8 years, we have discovered several roadblocks that keep us from moving forward. We will help you to identify which one has you stuck, and show you how to remove it! We have seen many couples experience healing from frustrations and hurts they have received from one another through this message. Powerful!
“Oneness takes work…Study your spouse!” We must learn to study our spouse and identify what speaks love to them. We will take a close look at “Love Languages” and “Spiritual Gifts”, and ask the Lord to show us where we can improve in choosing to show love to each other! Love is a choice! We choose to die to our selfish desires so that Christ might live through us to bless others. This message will help give you practical steps to show your spouse that they are top priority in your life. The return on a spouse that feels loved, is worth all the effort!
“Sex that brings fulfillment.” Sex was created as God’s design to bring fulfillment in marriage. God says sex is good! Often our view of the sexual union is skewed by the world’s thinking. We have allowed the enemy to steal the joy of sex from us, turning what God calls blessed, into something dirty and wrong. In this session, husbands and wives will split up and each gender group will discuss the issues we are often too embarrassed to talk about. We will discuss the correct Biblical mindset for sexuality. Also answer questions like…What to do when the fire goes out! What about physical issues such as aging or menopause? This session will enlighten you and help put the passion back in your bedroom!
“Keys to Survival.” Children are a blessing from God! But….Parenting is stressful! Having a busy household of maturing young and often older children, can add a lot of stress to the marriage, especially if a husband and wife are not unified in their parenting decisions. We will look to identify issues and then come up with Biblical responses that will help get both husband and wife on the same page and eliminate stress caused by parenting issues within the marriage.
“A Marriage for HIS Glory,” Rey and Jane Alveranga. Rey and Jane have served with WIT Ministries Dev since the beginning. They now are the leaders of WIT Mexico, taking the message of “Openness and Brokenness” south of the border. God shows Himself powerful through their story of redemptive love expressed through repentance and forgiveness.
“The Economics of Generosity,” Jason and Kathryn Kempson. The Kempson’s have also been with WIT Ministries Dev from the start and are true examples of wise stewardship. They will share with us the wisdom of living a balanced life with financial self-control, goal-setting and generosity. They will also give practical tips to everyday financial issues that affect marriage harmony.
